Tomato, Basil + Parmesan Spaghetti paired with Cabernet Sauvignon

This recipe is one of our favorite (and somewhat unconventional) dishes to pair with our Reserve Selections Cabernet Sauvignon. Simple yet delicious flavors of the tomato sauce complimented with the fresh basil and shredded parmesan pairs compatibly with the rich flavors of the Cabernet. Follow the recipe below and try it for yourself!

Tomato, Basil + Parmesan Spaghetti

Yields 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 16 oz dry pasta
  • 8 oz cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients (excluding parmesan) into a large pot.
  2. Pour water into pot and bring to a boil. Stir often.
  3. Once pasta is cooked and water has dissolved, remove from heat and allow to cool for about 5 minutes. Stir in parmesan. Garnish with additional basil if desired, serve and enjoy.
