    In the Vineyard

There isn’t much to report on the vineyard right now, staff is eagerly waiting for the spring season so they can get outside and prune!

    In the Winery

This month has been a great transition from 2018 into 2019. January and February are typically our slower times at the winery, which gives us time to get caught up behind the scenes. Currently we are working on getting a new batch of Estate Blanc ready for bottling. In the meantime, we will be bottling our Whitewater Rush and Richmond Rouge next month! Speaking of next month…

We have a few events going on at the winery in February. On the 9th we have a Valentine’s Day Themed Sip and Paint crafting event. Bring your love, your best friend, your mom, or your sibling! $60 a “couple” or $30 per person. You don’t have to come with someone to paint. We will be offering this to anyone! Check out our Facebook page to find out how to RSVP. The following day, February 10th, we will be hosting our annual Valentine’s Day Inspired Wine & Dine. For $50 a person (plus tax), you will experience a five-course meal made by Tyler from The Black Sheep, and we will pair each course with our wine! Call to RSVP!

    A New Vintage

    A New Vintage

Each growing season provides itself with new challenges and discoveries . The vines take a large amount of input by the grower like pruning, training, providing the vines with support to climb on, and protecting the grapes from predators like birds and insects. While doing some regular pruning this week, we have discovered a small nest within the vines growing beside our new flowering grape clusters. These small findings makes all the hard work and time put in even more worth it. We are looking forward to seeing the new vintage in this nest hatch and grow alongside our new...

    Outstanding Anniversary Vintage

    Outstanding Anniversary Vintage

On this past Saturday, we had the unique opportunity to see first-hand the creation of a new friendship. Two separate couples visited the estate with the same reason, to celebrate their anniversaries. Now, this happens quite often but what came out of their visit was a bit more uncommon. They each chose to sit out on our back patio, overlooking the north La Crescent vineyard, to enjoy their bottles of wine. Bob and Patti celebrating their anniversary of 22 years on June 25th choose a bottle of Lady in Red and Horizon Cuvee and Ross and Lauren, celebrating their 8th...

    Ice Wine, revealed

Ice wine is one of the most prized but mysterious wines made in our unique Wisconsin viticulture climate. We all know that ice wine is rare and more expensive than most wines but why is this?  How is it made? And why is it called Ice Wine? First, ice wine is made from frozen grapes. More specifically, grapes left hanging on the vine until they are naturally froze during winter (legally, only naturally frozen grapes can be called ice wine). Ice Wine Harvest 2015, a quick pose, then get back to harvest! Grapes need to get very cold to freeze,...

    Beautiful day on the Estate

    Beautiful day on the Estate

June 5th 2013 Earlier this week we had a group of three stop in form Belvidere, Illinois, a Husband, Wife and their daughter. It was a beautiful day, 72 degrees with a soft breeze just enough to massage your hair and keep the bugs at bay. This group was at Staller Estate Winery to celebrate a life altering development, their daughter was just hired for her first full-time job after collage. She was hired a teacher. These parents were so proud of their daughter, I was not sure what was brighter, their smiles or the sun shining 40 degrees above...
