Food, Wine and Music on the Lake Geneva shore

Sunday we had the Honor of supporting a fabulous organization in Lake Geneva; The Lake Geneva Symohony Orchestra. The event was a wine and hor d’oeuvres pairing held near the shores of Lake Geneva with the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra entertaining the more than 120 guests. More specifically, The Larkin family property graciously hosted the event at their magnificent Lake Geneva home. The Larkin home was a most exquisite setting for this event. The privacy, immaculate gardens and beautiful landscaping was a marvel for the eyes as we all listened to the perfect acoustics these surroundings showcased the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra. The more than 20 member Orchestra played for about two hours while guests were served food pairings from Celebration On Wells catering of Lake Geneva with Staller Estate Wines. Smoked Salmon w/Cream Cheese & Capers on Cocktail Pumpernickel was paired with Staller Estate’s award winning Horizon Cuvee. A pear and brie panni was paired with our complex Blanc de Crescent showcasing its apricot character and buttery finish. There was also hot sesame roasted beef skewers paired with our oak-aged Estate Reserve. As the orchestra played on, their skill to entertain came to life as many of the quests, almost hypnotically, rose to their feet to dance as if their feet were their own musical instruments. The guests were also serenaded with the masterful vocals of John Puleo singing favorites from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Tony Bennett. The Orchestra also played a song that is very dear to my heart, “In the Mood”. This was my father’s favorite song, he always loved to dance to this song, and now my husband and I dance to it whenever we hear it.
Thank you Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra, the Larkin Family and all of the guests that attended this successful event.
